Volunteer Nepal National Group (VolNepal) which is a non-profit organization in Nepal. VolNepal was founded in 2000 and was registered with the Chief District Administration Office and the Social Welfare Council, in Kathmandu in 2004.
We were created to implement new initiatives and platforms that could better answer the need for communication between volunteers and community
groups with NGOs operating both locally and internationally.
Our mission is to organize grassroots nonprofits and NGO's from diverse sectors and to coordinate these organizations' efforts to eliminate poverty through the implementation of ideas, funds and volunteers.
Our vision is to help create and promote a healthy community, with a restorable, sustainable environment for future generations.

Benefits to Participants:
A "volunteer" is anyone who, without compensation or expectation of compensation beyond reimbursement, performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of the agency. A "volunteer" must be officially accepted and enrolled by The Volnepal prior to performance of the task. Unless specifically stated, volunteers shall not be considered as "employees" of Volnepal.
Required Skills and Training:
We do not ask for any formal qualifications from our volunteers. All we ask is that you have a genuine desire to help people and are willing
to experience our culture and lifestyle. We do try to work with specialized skills when and where appropriate.
Volunteer training will vary according to the volunteer's position. All volunteers must attend an orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator. After the orientation, the Volunteer Coordinator will make an evaluation to determine how best to utilize a volunteer's time and skills. Virtual volunteers will receive written instruction from their respective supervisor regarding their duties. Volunteers are encouraged to explore multiple areas of Volnepal's volunteer opportunities as their time and experience allow.

Additional Information:
Our partner schools, orphanages, hospitals and restoration projects are all locally staffed. This leaves the students, families, and individuals in need with very limited exposure to the world outside of Nepal, thus their worldview is restricted. With volunteers from foreign countries, they get a chance to enlarge their view of the world. Direct interaction helps studies to become more interesting. Also, most of the students are weak in English conversation. English is now the #1 international language and a common means of business communication.
