Doctors of the World UK (DOW UK), previously known as Médecins du Monde UK, is part of the Médicins du Monde network, an international aid organisation that provides medical care and gives a voice to vulnerable people all over the world. DOW UK sends volunteers overseas to help those affected by natural disasters like the recent earthquake in Haiti or the flood in Pakistan. We also help vulnerable people affected by conflict and extreme poverty with programmes like our emergency response sent to Haiti and our project to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe. Our offices run healthcare projects in their capital cities which tend to the most vulnerable members of the community who find themselves unable to access the healthcare they need. Our UK healthcare project is known as Project: London.
