Macmillan needs an extra pair of hands! Macmillan Cancer Support, the leading cancer care charity, is looking to recruit a volunteer with a passion for coffee and fundraising to join the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire Fundraising Team in Launton, near Bicester, for three months. This voluntary internship will help grow the charity’s biggest event, ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ which takes place on Friday 24 September. Each year more than a million people participate in our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. They raise an incredible £8 million for Macmillan's vital services.
The successful applicant will be creative with excellent organisational skills and be confident building rapport with all types of supporters on the telephone and face to face. This is a 3-5 day a week role from the beginning of July to the beginning of October. You will be mentored by a fundraising manager and be part of a team of Macmillan Coffee Morning Interns across the country. The internship is unpaid, but volunteers will receive “out of pocket” expenses within agreed guidelines. For more info and to download an application form see www.macmillan.org.uk/intern and scroll to the World's Biggest Coffee Morning internship. The deadline is 21st May.
We Are What We Do is a global movement that believes that it's our simple, everyday behaviour that makes the world the way it is. We are looking for one or two, full or part-time interns for 4-12 week placements to help with our 2010 campaign, which will focus on inspiring more positive intergenerational behaviour. WAWWD is partnering with Google to launch our first high profile intergenerational project. The project will aim to inspire millions of people to dig out some old photos and share them and the story behind them online, motivating older people to share their history and younger people to share their digital skills - and both to share more time and understanding.
The role will involve the collection of compelling content for a new website: photos and all the information behind them - place, date and stories, and will require basic research skills.
