A Farm For The Future is a documentary about a working farm in Devon. The story is told by a lady who has inherited the family farm and is learning about peak oil and the implications it has for modern day farming methods. She explores the topic of peak oil and then looks for examples of low energy farming and food production that use the principles of permaculture (including a visit to an amazing food forest in Wales!).
We will also show some other related short films which are a surprise!
Information rating:High. Contains lots of information about the challenges our country's food production industry faces in the future as well as examples of successful low energy farming methods based on permaculture.
Doom rating:Practically zero doom! Although the documentary does a good job of describing the precarious and unresilient position our agricultural system is in (the only moderate doom in the whole film) it presents lots of solutions that are within our grasp and inspiring examples that give you faith that a low energy future is bright, better, and attainable.
