Some internships are advertised on vacancy websites (further below), but many more can be found by searching within particular areas in the sector:

If there is a specific organisation you are interested in, but they do not seem to run an internship scheme, it may be worth contacting them anyway. Even if they cannot offer you a full internship, you may be able to get a few days work experience.
• Europlacement – Provides listings of internships from all over the world, in a variety of sectors including Biology, Community and Social Services; Healthcare and social work; Non-profit.
• Internjobs.com –Listings of internships in a variety of sectors. Allows a search for nonprofit and environmental internships. This is an international site so positions are from all over the world, with a focus on the USA.
• Experience Development’s internship page – internship positions in the UK and/or overseas from development organisations from around the world. 6-12 months opportunities.
• Idealist.org – lists internships as well as jobs, mainly from USA and Canada, but also internationally.
