The White Ribbon Alliance and Southampton University have been working together to organise a Student Midwifery conference at the University of Southampton on the 22nd October.
International Midwifery - "Challenges and Opportunities" - will be one of the first conferences of its kind, aiming to raise awareness of the global challenges and opportunities in providing healthcare for mothers and newborns, and to enhance student midwives' awareness of global issues related to maternal, newborn and child health.
The conference will be open to all University of Southampton Midwifery Students, as well as other students of health and the social sciences from both Southampton and further afield. WRA Director (UK) Brigid McConville will present the work of the WRA and will be joined by a number of expert speakers from across the field.
