EnvironmentActivities and Responsibilities:
Envision is looking for enthusiastic, committed, solution focused people to become
"Envision Youth Educators" (EYEs) starting in September/October 09. This challenging
and highly rewarding role involves supporting teams of young volunteers aged 16-19 to
plan, set up and implement their own projects tackling social or environmental problems
they identify in their schools and communities.
You will be helping young people develop skills, gain confidence and explore their own
potential to make a difference. You will need to commit to weekly meetings (normally at
lunchtime) until May 2010.
Benefits to Participants:
The opportunity to gain experience of working with young people and develop facilitation skills. As a volunteer you will receive a full day's facilitation training. You will also be assigned an Envision Coordinator as your main Envision contact. You can rely on them for ongoing advice and support by phone, email and face-to-face, as well as research and help with your team's projects.
Required Skills and Training:
We look for people who: Have a keen interest in working with young people.
Are interested in the social and environmental issues facing local communities and the world.
Have good organisational and communication skills.
Are confident and can work on their own initiative.
Are energetic and enthusiastic.
Can give a commitment to work with their team for the 7-8 months of the programme.
