Activities and Responsibilities: 
Association Visitors act as the main contact for people living with MND (this includes the person with MND, their family and carer) on behalf of the Association. They keep in regular contact offering confidential emotional support, and accurate information to enable people with MND to make informed choices

Volunteering is a rewarding experience and it can offer a number of benefits to a volunteer, for example, new skills, new friends, having fun, plus the satisfaction knowing that you are making a valuable contribution to a worthwhile cause
Required Skills and Training: 
Commit to a minimum of 2 – 4 hours per week//Participate in support and supervision meetings and development days and use them appropriately//Have good listening and communication skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues//Work as part of a team as required for the role//Ability to develop networks, liaise with health and social care professionals//Develop and maintain supportive relationships with people with MND & their carers whilst respecting different lifestyles and managing problems in a non judgemental way//Prepared to increase your knowledge of MND, its effects, and the impact it has on individuals, their families and carers//Understand the need for confidentiality and carry out the role in accordance with the Assoc. policy//Be able to recognise situations where you are not able to meet an individuals needs and the need to signpost to an alternative more appropriate organisation, or when unsure be prepared to seek support from an experienced Visitor or member of staff
Additional Information: 
Volunteers must be over 18 All reasonable costs will be covered, including , travel, parking, postage, etc
