Climate change has received a huge amount of media coverage in recent months, particularly within the United Kingdom. The influence of media portrayal of climate change and the issues around it is vast, and can have a profound effect on efforts to advocate action in this area. We believe that an understanding of this critical issue is important for anyone with an interest in global health, and we would like to invite you all to come to this session and learn a bit more about it!

Tomorrow Green Action a're having a joint meeting with AllotSoc, the new society which is planning to campaign for allotment space on campus and encourage students to Grow their own veggies.  They'll be discussing how to move ahead with the campaign and making schemey plans, so if you'd like to see food grown on and off campus by students in the near future then come along and get involved!

------------UNICEF on campus presents: SHOCKWAVE 2010---------

One month on from the devastating quake that rocked the Caribbean nation of Haiti on 12 January, UNICEF is urgently appealing for assistance to maintain our response to the resulting children’s emergency.

In response to this appeal, UNICEF on campus have organised SHOCKWAVE, an evening of entertainment featuring many talented members of Southampton University!

Do you believe that all children should have the right of clean water, sanitation, food, healthcare, education and a safe environment to grow up in? 

Want to make a difference for children in over 190 countries?  

Are you interested in raising awareness and money for UNICEF's work?

Green Action are having an open meeting to discuss their next target for the guerrilla gardening campaign, at the usual time and place of the Stag's Head at 7PM on Monday.

Dr Stephen Wilkinson, an expert on issues in Cuba, will be giving an overview of the Cuban healthcare system and how it has been affected by political changes over the last 60 years.

Student Action for Refugees (STAR), Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and Amnesty International are sleeping outside the SUSU shop overnight to highlight the poverty faced by many asylum seekers and refugees in the UK every day

There will be a mock UN emergency tent, live music and circus tricks.

If you would like to take part just turn up on the night with warm clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, food and drink, friends etc
